Meydia

The province of Meydia is a small and unimportant area of the Argonian Empire. About 60% of its land is surrounded by a thin mountain range. The province borders a rarely quiet section of The Ashlands to its south, known as the sleeping wastes. To the east lays a dense jungle that is called The Secluded Wilds, as it is boxed in by highlands and mountains. To the northwest lay the The Meydian Plains, a vast grassland that connects the province to the rest of the empire. The most notable feature of the province, however, is not its geology but rather its sky. The entire province is covered by a vast mental of clouds that never seem to disappear. Strangely enough, the clouds do not seem to block any light. It is not as if sun rays pass between the clouds or that they themselves shine, it is as if the light of the sky is not hindered by the clouds at all.   Meydia's main value to the empire comes in its export of rare gemstones and minerals harvested from the nearby mountains. As such, the capital of the province is the trade city of Hazegate that also houses the Miner's Guild. In addition to the capital, there are three more settlements in the province, the fishing town of Lumairen and the villages of Greenpath and Orthus.   The province is scattered with old ruins, hinting at the existence of an ancient civilization that must have thrived in the province at least a millennia ago. To add to this, there stands a mysterious tower in the northeast of the province that pierces the clouds. Little is known about the tower and academics of the empire have scratched their heads about its purpose for decades.   Normally the province is very peaceful, however, about three months ago a sudden increase of demon activity plagued the province. The branch of The Hunting Brigade that is established in the region is understaffed to deal with the issue, leaving them to ask adventurers for help. To make matters worse, the effort invested in quelling the demons keeps the hunters from dealing with the normal monsters. This has led to an increase in dangerous wildlife as well.
