The Lands of Meydia
In the southeast of the Argonian empire lies the province of Meydia. It is a rather insignificant land covered by a blanket of eternal clouds. It is mainly surrounded by mountains and bordering a dense jungle as well as a part of the traitorous Ashlands. For as long as people can remember, Meydia has been a peaceful land where only few monsters made their home, it was even spared from the demonic incursions originating from the Ashlands. However, about three months ago, demon activity has sharply increased in the province. The Hunting Brigade, the military unit tasked with keeping the empire’s lands safe from monsters, demons, and other foul beasts, does not have the manpower stationed in the region to quell the threat. To make matters worse, the empire hasn’t been able to send reinforcement. As a desperate measure, the empire called upon the adventurers of the Piran continent, offering them a wealthy reward for their assistance in combating the demons. Yet the increased demon activity is not the only mystery that can be found within the borders of Meydia. In the northeast of the region stands an ancient tower that pierces the sky, surpassing even the tallest mountain tops. Three such towers are known to the scholars of the empire, with rumors of other ones being dotted around the world. With this being the only tower within the empire’s borders, many academics have traveled to Meydia in an attempt to resolve its secrets. Yet, after many decades of fruitless investigation, the imperial society of the learned has given up on discovering the tower's secrets. As a final effort, they reserved a reward for anyone who could discover something about the tower. So far, many adventurers have tried, but just like the scholars, none have succeeded. Nowadays, the tower is seen as an unresolvable mystery, a beacon that taunts academics. And so the bounty still stands, waiting for a lucky traveler to claim it.
