Orthus

Orthus is a small farming village in the northeast of Meydia. It is built among ancient ruins that still scatter the landscape. Not far from the village stands The Ancient Tower, which dominates the view from within the village and surrounding areas. The villagers mainly occupy themselves with the farming of different crops and herding of cattle. Due to this, Orthus is surrounded by farmland.
There are few locations of note in Orthus. There is a herbalist who works as a healer, as well as a guesthouse adjacent to the elder’s house. The guesthouse has been built specifically to house those who come out to investigate the tower. In the past, the town used to get frequent visits from scholars on an expedition to survey the tower. Nowadays, the occasional group of adventurers comes by for the same reason.
Not far from the villages lives a hermit who is called “The Storyteller” by the locals. He is surprisingly knowledgeable about the tower according to the villagers, although he rarely shares much of his knowledge with outsiders.
