The Storyteller

North of the village of Orthus, close to The Ancient Tower lives a lone hermit. This old man is referred to as the Storyteller. According to the people of Orthus, he has lived in the area for a few hundred years, giving advice to the village elder and others who ask for it. He is very reclusive and mysterious. He is always dressed in a black robe that covers most of his face with a hood. The villagers aren't quite sure what species the hermit is, but they assume he is an elf of some sort. The man is remarkably knowledgeable about the tower and the history of the region, therefore earning the nickname "Storyteller". However, he refuses to provide any in-depth information about the tower, yet from his way of speaking it is clear he knows more. 
The man is actually a Icara who long ago fell from Aetheris after being attacked by Sepron the Contradiction. His true name is Ordeus and he was the previous chronicler of Heliomea. When transporting The Cloud Orb in order to reach the Palace of Heliomea, he was ambused by the great serpent and fell to the mortal world together with the orb. During his decent he lost the orb, not knowing wherever it could have ended up. In the hopes that he may one day find a way to return to the heavens, Ordeus decided to settle near the tower, lending his knowledge to the people of Orthus in exchange for the occasional resources. 

Appearance

Ordeus is usually dressed in a black robe. He wears a hood that covers his face, concealing all his Icara features. The sets of golden rings that he obtained when becoming a chronicler can still be seen by the players or at least glimpses of them. The man has an old, stern face with a short silver-gray beard. He has long hair below his hood, with short faded-green feathers sticking out between the back of his hair. Based on his posture and the way he walks, it is clear that he is very old. Like other Icara, he has wing raments along his arms and golden eyes.

Personality

Ordeus is very isolative and does not share a lot of details about himself. He is, however, willing to answer the questions of the party, but he will keep up the appearance of not knowing anymore than an old hermit should know. The party needs to carry out a big favor in order for him to reveal more about his secretive past and the knowledge that comes with it. Other than that he is very unexcitable, treating threats as unimpressive remarks that he mostly ignores. Behind this facade, he carries a big sense of righteousness. This is mainly due to his angelic heritage. In his younger days, before his fall, he would have cared little about the overworld, but after many decades of living there, he deeply values it. Because of this, he does not want to see it be destroyed, even though he feels only a small tie with the people of Meydia.
