The Meydian Plains

The Meydian plains are large grasslands in the west of the province. It connects Meydia to the adjacent imperial provinces. Because of this, important trade routes lead through the plains. On normal days, there is little of interest on the plains, apart from a couple of ruins scattered around and the occasional pack of wild horses galloping through the grasslands. Yet, it is not uncommon for people to refuse to travel the plains under certain weather conditions. Every few weeks the plains are plagued with a terribly dense fog that can last for days on end. This fog on its own is heavy enough to cause even weathered travelers to lose their way. Because of this, only local merchants who are familiar with the area traverse the plains during this time. The real problem, however, is the beasts that hide in the fog. It is not uncommon that caravans get attacked by these so-called "fog lurkers"; monstrous hounds that come out to hunt during the thick mists. This forces those who do choose to embark during the fog times to bring with them a contingent of mercenaries for protection.   As of late, however, a bigger threat has been haunting the plains while it's engulfed in fog. A dreadful centaur known as Tagus the Plague of the Planes. The beast ambushes convoys and completely demolishes them, rarely ever leaving any survivors. The Hunting Brigade struggles with hunting down the monster, as the increase in demon activity within the regions leaves the brigade too stretched out to mount a propper offensive.
