Supreme Commander Robert Whitrock
This homo sapiens man stands proud in his well-decorated military uniform, plastered with awards for his service. His gold-plated armor shines brightly as he carries himself with grace, his fanciful sword sheathed at his side, more often used as a cane rather than a weapon these days. He has a Black Kraken Arbiter's mark underneath his chin, still somewhat visible beneath his graying stubble.
Robert Whitrock is the founder and current Supreme Commander of the The Kraken's Reach , the national military for The Kingdom of Krakonia , having as much authority as King Daerius Quintus of Krakonia himself in matters of war. He is known as a brilliant strategist, playing a key role in The Unification Wars as General Horus Spintail's second-in-command.
Whitrock first appeared in Requerm as part of The Effects of the Dawn shortly before the beginning of the Unification Wars. Seeing the writing on the wall, he quickly managed to befriend The Harbingers of the Rising Dawn , claiming to be an expert in warfare despite not having any military experience, citing various "games" he played as a child in the Earth plane of existence as experience enough for the purposes of the "isekai" he had found himself in. He is notably not the only homo sapiens to speak of this "isekai" phenomenon, but he is perhaps the most well-known. He boasted about his ability to read the hidden numbers inherent to every living creature in Requerm, and used that ability to his advantage in fights. Regardless of his questionable background, his actions proved the weight of his words, and soon after the Unification Wars began, he found himself a trusted advisor to Horus Spintail, who at the time had little experience with controlling an entire army, relying solely on his connections to the Harbingers to convince his fellow citizens of Krakonia City to fight on his behalf.
As the Unification Wars raged on, Whitrock gained more prestige as a powerful warrior capable of backing up his unique strategies with his own impressive strength. By the end of the war, he was considered at the same level of authority as any of the other major leaders of the budding kingdom, having become a war hero and well-respected general. It was no surprise then, that roughly a year after the founding of the Kingdom of Krakonia, he was given the title of Supreme Commander of the newly founded Kraken's Reach, after creating the military structure himself. Horus Spintail and King Daerius Quintus both personally vouched for his character on the day of the announcement, granting him all the backing he needed from citizens wary about such a rigid military being created during peacetime.
These days, Whitrock can usually be found either in The Heart of the Kraken , aka Krakonia Castle, or The Brain of the Kraken , aka the HQ for the Kraken's Reach, both located in Krakonia City. He spends his days monitoring the many aspects of the kingdom's military, reporting to the king when necessary, but making most of the calls himself. Despite the weight that such responsibilities would bring to a single individual, Whitrock is still known as a surprisingly relaxed man, as if he doesn't even take his work seriously. The only aspect of himself more evident than his skills is his ego, as if he simply knows that his strategies will work one hundred percent of the time, regardless of his previously impressive, but non-perfect track record. This personality makes him strangely easy to approach, his eagerness to please others enough for him to take the time to listen to individual pleas if they somehow manage to get past all his far more serious security.
