DTOS

Known as the Delot-Thesaclean Operating System, the DTOS is "the" central operating system that possess every line of code that controls every aspect of life within the Delothian Collective.

Maintained and changed with successive updates (like smartphones OS), this operating system is the primary law codex passed down by King Thesacles: the first mythological king of Dyloth and the Archaenids (following the destruction of Karoj-Menos).

DTOS version 1.0 was designed to control the small number of POWs and dangerous persons converted into Delot servants, integrate a planet's new Archaenid-provided infrastructure into their cities & automate reconstruction efforts following a 1-1/2 century of sector-wide conflict.

As stability returned to the sector and society began to rapidly change, the following versions of the DTOS slowly began to compute and legislate all laws involving organics & Delots. 

By the time of the series, DTOS version 13.5.3 is the most current version.

Controlling a highly stratified democratic society where all upper level Archaenids traded in their organic bodies for Delot chassis. And all lower class Archaenids & organics in the Patrokonoi-Hellecia service Delot-integrated systems across the sector. 

Eventually, this consolidation of power over the sector would lead to the series-defining conflict with the Lanaxdrian Warrior States and their allies (namely the Professional Guilds of Aeonite Craftspeople).

One key weakness in the DTOS is its file structure. Many of the key operating functions of the DTOS span back to the earliest versions of the system. If any changes were made to those particular files, the resulting changes could affect the coding in the changes made to the newer versions.

A system-wide blackout would lead to a catastrophic failure of all key Delot systems; including the backup servers on the thousands of Delot Hub Servers.

One of these said structurally important laws pertains to the Psygonaut Mandate.

This line of code (written by King Thesacles himself) was made to prevent complacency and stagnation in their exploration of the stars. It allows only one Level 8 or higher sponsor to commandeer a Hellecian vessel, sequester supplies/provisions, and draft a crew in pursuit of undiscovered planets, DST Accelerator Lanes & exploration of the sector during times of peace and crisis. 

Many Delots have tried to remove this line of code for several reasons: it drains public resources from the Collective to turn criminals and political dissidents into a state-sponsored band of raiders & remains an antiquated vestige of barbarism of toxic-cisgendered masculine "honor."

Regardless of King Thesacles' reasons, this particular mandate allowed Ulysses "Ollie" Dylos, AJM-001, Eucidrie, UHP Rector Dysomus & the other prisoners escape from the Ilocanos-7 shipyards aboard The Psygorellius in the pilot episode.
