The Psygorellius

The single most important piece of history in the entire sector, The Psygorellius is the legendary exploratory vessel that's ferried both heroes and gods to glory, torn down & raised countless hegemons, and was instrumental in guiding the Hellecians to victory over the gods at Karoj-Menos.

Legend has it the ship was created in the same instant the cosmos was born from the Cosmic Aurora and serves as a precursor to the fall of a tyrannical hegemony.

Once the old hegemony is overthrown, The Psygorellius returns to the Aurora from which it came until the next generation of Psygonauts or wordless explorers call it back to service.

However, many conflicting details and fantastical myths draw speculation about the ship's existence entirely.

In some legends, the ship was built by the Cyclopes to assist the gods in defeating the Titans. Others say  it was built by the mythical engineer Dacdelion to be a template for the Hellecian navy, lost after the destruction of Karoj-Menos. Stolen from Apollo's temple by Hermes and stolen again by Iodium during the progenitors' escape. Or it was first spy vessel from the Perxis-Sadem by the Hellecians before their invasion of the sector.

Because of this, most Hellecians write off the ship's existence as a myth or an allegory for science's victory over superstition.

Regardless of its origins, The Psygorellius represents the generational struggle to explore the limits of the unknown drawn by the previous explorers and hampered by the tyrannies of the age.

During the pilot, Ulysses "Ollie" Dylos, AJM-001 & Eucidrie escape the Ilocanos-7 shipyards on a ship "resembling" the mythical Psygorellius just as the oppressive, hegemonic rule of the Delothian Collective begins to eclipse the sector.

Features/Capabilities:

While passing off as a typical tri-deck (three separate operational decks all reporting to a single command deck), The Psygorellius is designed as a long-distance exploratory vessel to travel into deep space to locate unexplored planets and any deactivated DST Accelerator Lanes

When Dylos and AJM-001 first claimed it, many of the ship's systems are non-compliant to DTOS weaponry standards (such as gravitational matter compressors (GMCs) for their concealed forward-mounted coil gun, a compliment of 20 military-grade COAG Discharge Chutes for engine-less propulsion & offensive/defensive capabilities, several contraband Delothian automated systems for self-docking, self-repair & scrambling nearby transmissions, along with an experimental high-output engine).

The key feature of the ship is the Golden Throne on its command deck. Armed with a genetic lock, only a descendant of a previous commander may sit on the throne and command the ship. While seated, the commander has an extra sensory connection to the ship and its crew members.

The commander can have a 360 degree view of the exterior of the ship or see through the eyes of an individual crew member. From this position, the commander can also issue commands with his mind to crew members at specific stations, along with the ability to fire system-wide commands.

The success of the ship hinges around the crew's ability to listen to the commander and the commander's ability to heed their crew. Especially when a synchronized crew of oarsmen energy pulses are the difference between navigating through an asteroid field and being sucked out into space.

Over the course of the series, the Psygorellius will be upgraded with new weaponry or gadgets to help them on their quest to find the Lost Aurora Crown of Ilocanos-Seven in the Black Void Nebula.

Role in the Series:

Throughout the series, The Psygorellius will serve as the mode of transportation for Dylos and the Psygonauts (or world-less explorers). Many will enter its service for a time and disembark during their many stops, in order to fulfill the ship's purpose of exploring and colonizing the unknown reaches of the sector.

However, much of the ship will remain a mystery (even to Dylos, AJM-001 & Eucidrie).

While the ship's outer hull was significantly stripped down during the events of the pilot. Most of the smaller rooms were left intact, saved by Nerogonese's order.

This gives the crew a number of opportunities to explore their ship and discover the long lost secrets of the Hellecian Sector tucked away in its sealed rooms and hidden crawl spaces.
