Sungear Public Library

This library is a city landmark and one of the main national archive in the Sungear Republic. It's located in downtown Sungear next to the financial area. For 200 years it contains millions of books, items, and historical records that some could be dated back to the time city was formed.

Purpose / Function

Besides the landmark attraction, the public library is a great place for leisure. Leaving the bustle of the metropolis behind, to enjoy the peace inside the main big, quiet, and cozy reading rooms, and millions of books and items available.

Furthermore, It also has a museum, a park, an art gallery, and the internet.

Architecture

The main library is built with marbles and limestone, and 3 stories high.

The cellar, which is not open to the public, is located beneath the ground floor. It has a temperature control room and special rooms for storing sensitive records.

Many public events are held on the ground floors; The entrance and the lobby. The first to second floors are the museum containing stands and showcases of original, historical items.

The main reading room, Uno Room, is located inside the third floor.

Uno Room

The wide dome made with cloudy tough glass provides sustainable light day-long, with additional air-conditioners, giving a cozy feeling. People can order books through librarians which they will pick and deliver. The room also has desktops providing access to library collections and the Internet, as well as docking facilities for laptops.

It's named after James Uno, the national famous writer.

History

The construction began in 1808 and finished 5 years afterward, in 1813, with opening celemony held in the same year.
