Lady Hevion Varnell Carbonhill
Hevion Carbonhill is the leader of the Carbonhill Clan, who control the trade in Ironstar and have held its Triad Representative seat for centuries. Hevion is kind at heart and quite liked by the people. She came into power when her mother, Gella Carbonhill, stepped down in order to live a "normal" life.
Hevion puts great importance on keeping the people, especially the workers, of Ironstar happy. However, she is also often torn between them and the other powerful families and factions in Miennach, as these often want opposing things, and criticise many of her steps.
Riskell's Rise
After the Rignes Triad Council Election in 1411, Hevion and her council were worried by the win of Riskell Bellowbrand in Mig Dural. For Hevion, it meant that she was outnumbered in Miennach's Triad, especially worrying since she and Magnus Bellowbrand did not agree on many things. Shortly after, an emissary of the Merchant's Guild arrived, having travelled from Mig Dural in order to ask Hevion for help since Riskell's win was not legitimate. She promised to find someone, reluctant to send any parties directly affiliated with Ironstar or herself. Coincidentally, Hevion shortly after learned of the Formidable Disparates from Ironstar's Captain of the Guard, Stendar Fenlan, after they helped him get rid of a shadowy entity that was killing his men in Utren's Way. She enlisted their help and sent them to Mig Dural, since they were at the time a neutral faction and could not be traced back to her easily.Rising Tensions
As Magnus Bellowbrand's forces surrounded Mig Dural, Hevion prepared for her birthday party, inviting various members of the Triad Council in order to negotiate various factors, should a war with Kesava break out. She also hired the Formidable Disparates to provide additional protection, should an attempt be made on her life. Assassins did attack the festivities, but seemingly failed in their attempt to kill Hevion. However, it was shortly after found out that the assassins were there to claim the life of Paro Dallen instead.Mental characteristics
Education
Hevion was educated at Ironstar's open school (free attendance), the Redrogan Academy, where she learned reading, writing, mathematics and simple sciences. Later, she spent two years in Syoll's Heart, where she studied politics and economics. Since then she has been known to take interest in her people's knowledge and learn things from them.
Employment
When she returned from her studies in Syoll's Heart, Hevion started an apprenticeship in the Brimstone Market, where she helped a dragonborn armorsmith, Tuvah Sivert, in her shop. The apprenticeship had to be broken off early, however, when Gella Carbonhill announced her early retirement. Hevion became the new leader of the Carbonhill Clan, putting her in charge of all the mines controlled by Ironstar.
Morality & Philosophy
Hevion is kind at heart and a true pacifist. However, sometimes the pressure that lies on her shoulders causes her to make bad decisions. Due to her experiences, she believes in equal treatment and, although she might be a part of one of the richest families in Syoll, this does not mean others must suffer, instead she sees it as an opportunity to help others.
