Kesava

Kesava, capital of the homonymous hold, is located in the far south of Miennach near the Colliennach forest. It lies in a valley between two mountains, Sikara and Korif, and so gets only little daylight most of the time. Miennach's largest mines are located here and the raw materials are mostly transported along the Coin Road to Mig Dural, where they are traded or processed.   The mines in and around Kesava are owned by a few wealthy families or syndicates, the wealthiest of which being the Bellowbrands who, over the last few years, have bought many of the mines, increasing their influence. Magnus Bellowbrand, the patriarch of the family, is the current Kesavan Triad Representative.   Although it lies in the south, the more temperate area of Miennach, Kesava's climate is rather cold because it lies at a higher elevation. The weather presents the rare chance for many games and sports to be played in the almost permanent snow, providing a popular tourist spot in the winter months.

Demographics

Kesava most likely has the largest wealth class difference of the Miennan cities. Its rich are unfathomably so, able to afford lavish mansions outside the city while its poor work for minimal wages in the mines and often are forced to live in the streets. A lot of the Mig Duralan upper class own holiday homes in Kesava.

Architecture

Kesava was built on and around an Elphead ruin. Most of the houses were built with stone, either reused (from those ruins) or new (from the surrounding mountains). The houses are all made to be relatively insulated, which is important in such a chilly and snowy climate.

“The Kesavan upper class is very different to the rest, and acts as a fascinating case study. They close themselves off and shut out the world, they seemingly only mingle with each other, and often they don’t even know about the exploitation and unfairness happening in the mines they themselves own and profit from (or, possibly, they simply ignore it).”
