Colliennach

The forest of Colliennach lies in the south of Syoll and is one of the more densely populated aspects. It is vital for Syoll’s timber industry, as well as providing certain animal products like furs or leather. It is said that Colliennach is a naturally magical place, much like Farathin, and has close ties to the realms of the Feywild. It is not unheard of that a traveller has wandered from the path and found themselves in the midst of the twisting forests of the Fey. The people are incredibly tight-knit, often valuing family and a connection to nature.   The Colliennan woodland is not nearly as dark and dense as the Great Forest, but certain creatures are known to roam from time to time, causing the southern settlements some problems.

Structure

Colliennach is divided into three holds: Mathegel, Regran, and the Felan Hold. Each of these has a Triad Representative with their respective councils. A lot of towns and villages also have elected mayors, who have a minor degree of control.

Culture

Family and freedom are deeply valued by the people of Colliennach. Each settlement has a very clear sense of community, and the people will stick together. At the same time, a certain sense of freedom is also important. The idea of a perfect life could be described as travelling freely and living in the wild, but always returning to one's home and community in the end.

History

Colliennach has had a relatively quiet history, its borders always being clear and territory remaining unchallenged. After Amridge became an independent aspect, and Mig Dural was made the third Miennan hold, an agreement was made in which Mig Duralans gained the rights to a portion of the Colliennan forest.

Agriculture & Industry

Colliennach is a very important contributor to the Syollan market, since almost all of the country's timber comes from there. It also produces and exports various animal products such as fur, leather, and meat.   A lot of the produce that originates in Colliennach is easily replenished, possibly because of its connection to the Feywild, and thus enough wood can be cut down to satisfy the requirements for the majority of Syoll's aspects while the forest is also conserved.

Trade & Transport

Colliennach has a lot of port towns along Nessur's Eye, as well as multiple roads and rivers that provide fast routes through the otherwise hard to traverse forest.    A lot of these rivers flow from The Great Forest, making it a perfect trade route that reaches most settlements in Colliennach.

Education

The basic education in Colliennach has a good standard, with individuals who absolved their elementary education there being seen with high regard. The offer for higher education is also of good quality, albeit with limited subject matters. Mostly, students of Colliennan colleges and universities study the flora & fauna of Syoll, next to languages or history. Additionally, Farathinian scholars studying the planes of existence often collaborate with smaller research facilities and schools in the forest in order to study the connections to the Feywild.

Absolutely. This will be one that I will probably work on very soon, along with Amridge (as they are closest to Miennach and the PCs might go there soon
