Anoomenon St. Imylka's Cathedral
St. Imylka's Cathedral can be found on the east bank of the right branch of the river Perque, downstream of the City Reach. It dominates the view of the stretch of river known as St. Imylka's Overlook.
Purpose / Function
The Cathedral was consecrated in 2127 AF during the age of the Trade Wars. It was constructed as a home for the Meditator, an arcane device brought back to Earth by Imylka Jhress when she returned from the fifth of the Friendship Missions to Neo Fleverovia in 2023 AF.
Architecture
The cathedral architects used many of the motifs found in the locally famous style of Anoomenon architecture known as Colossal Build.
Collosal Build is characterised by great ramparts of towering treated sandstone, hollowed out into multiple spires and stepped towers. In other secular buildings and dwellings such as the much earlier Oustone Barony and Gess Palace, or the later financial ramparts of the Kings Court district, there are usually only relatively narrow slits for openings, leaving deleberately blank faces of smooth stone to face the world. The builders of the cathedral, however, pierced the walls with elegant traceries of thin and finely carved stonework, sheathed with multi coloured glass to let natural light touch the vast, open and cool interior.

Tourism
The Cathedral is a place of pilgrimage throughout the awakened world. There are two particularly important festivals in the religious calendar. The first is the Peace Meditation, held on the first Primeday of Neworbit at the mid winter solstice. The second is the Commemoration of the Martyrdom of St. Imylka, which is held on the anniversary of her death, on the 12th of Highyear, shortly after the summer solstice.
Even outside of these special times, for hundreds of years the Cathedral has drawn supplicants from all Trass and beyond, both for solitary meditation and to attend regular services of reflection before the Meditator, although as the population of the planet has dwindled with the Emptying of Earth, their numbers have fallen.
