Maramun

I always felt sad for that poor bastard, Cassander. Imagine building the grandest empire of your time only to be betrayed by your milkboy of a son. I would be haunted even in the afterlife. Without that coward, his father would have won. They did make an excellent ale though.
— Irruption Wars, A History by Various Authors
The August Empire of Maramun was the strongest political powerhouse of its time. It stretched from the east to the west and while it occupied the southeastern part of Edhas the Emperor's children were rulers of Sugosea.

History

Maramun was a small kingdom in the southeastern part of Edhas until King Cassander took the reigns from his father. Cassander launched a campaign which saw him conquering his neighbors and raise his kingdom to an empire. During his 197 years of reigning he managed to occupy the largest part of Edhas, reaching to Aurelia even.   During the Irruption Wars, Cassander's firstborn, Lander, called his father to bring the entirety of the armies for exercises in Roalimar given that he was to be married. This turned to be a ruse as a portal was opened in Isthamere, allowing the invaders to take the city within days. The army of Maramun upon hearing the news split in three ways, between deserters, followers of Whytelaw who marched to the west and those who opted to take their empire back. The battle of Tarragona was decisive as the last remains of the army were lost to the invaders and Maramun fell.   Following Whytelaws return, the luscious forests of Sugosea were given to their new allies from other worlds, while Isthamere was abandoned, allowing several smaller kingdoms to come to power.
