Chieftain Tok Nighstar

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Tok Nightstar took over as Chieftain of The Nightstar Clan after Chieftain Sudri Nightstar died in the tunnel collapse.

Tok was born in the underground portion of Durnork. He was the leader of a raiding party that had several successful raids against The Bitter Dagger Clan. Once he took over as Chieftain, he set out to Pazi to finish getting the village established. Once it was completed he returned to Durnork and began overseeing the day to day business as Chieftain. He had received reports from the spies that The Bronzefoot Clan was assaulting The Bitter Dagger Clan relentlessly.

He gathered the leaders of his raiding parties and instructed them to also raid the Bitter Daggers. They were neighbors and if the Bronzefoots were weakening them, then it was the time to strike. He was hoping that the Bitter Daggers were scattered and that his raids would easily push in and capture more territory. He sent most of his forces into the Bitter Dagger territory. The Bitter Daggers found themselves defending on all fronts. The Nightstars proved to be no match in a conventional conflict. The Bitter Daggers poisoned weapons proved to be too much. His forces returned suffering heavy losses. The Nightstars weren't ever really a formidable foe in face to face combat, they always relied on their stealth and attacking strategic targets or personnel. This horrible defeat cause a split in the Nightstar clan.

Some believed that Chieftain Tok had brought shame and dishonor to the clan by this defeat and did not know how to manage the clan's forces. Now, thanks to him, their forces were almost completely wiped out. They called for his immediate resignation and expulsion from the clan.

Others agreed that Tok did fail in his attempt at capturing territory, but they did not believe it called for resignation. They supported Tok and urged him to just ignore those that were complaining. They assured everyone that even with the diminished forces, that they were perfectly safe below ground. No one new of their underground cities and that they would not be discovered.

As time went by, the anger at Tok grew. After he refused to resign, Gutt Sandstorm took those that were angry and left The Nightstar Clan. Tok spent the rest of his time rebuilding the Nightstars and denouncing The Sandstorm Clan.

Tok eventually resigned from Chieftain in year -24BU. He died 20 years later after contracting an illness while living deep underground after eating some poisonous mushrooms.
