The Woundlight
The Woundlight is an aging, rust-streaked lighthouse standing on a craggy outcrop in the middle of The Wound, its flickering beam powered by Gree. Primarily a navigation aid for Salve’s hazardous waterways, its erratic beam is powered by unstable gree-reactive machinery, making it as much a danger as a guide. Despite its failing reliability, locals cling to rumors that the Lantern’s strange hum deters something lurking in the depths—though few believe this entirely.
Architecture
The tower is a towering skeleton of rusted iron and weathered stone, patched together with salvaged materials over decades of makeshift repairs. Its lantern chamber, enclosed by brine-streaked glass, casts an uneven, sputtering light over the water, while the interior is a maze of creaking stairs and precarious scaffolding.
History
Once a symbol of industrial progress, the Woundlight was built to ensure safe navigation. However, the passage of time and the corrosive environment of The Wound have left it in near-constant disrepair. It is no longer the proud beacon it once was, but its light—faint and flickering—remains important to those who navigate The Wound.
