The Boiling Choir
Tier: II, Weak Hold
The Boiling Choir is a cult who view and venerate the Greebeast as the extension of the will of The Blast.. Central to their rituals is the belief that The Blast speaks through The Boil, the Greebeasts, and the flames themselves. Each hymn they sing—whether during a ritual, an act of sabotage, or a gathering in the roiling sacredness of a Boil Over—connects them to what they see as the true power present in the Isles. Their guttural chants are said to harmonize with the eerie cries of the Greebeasts, creating a "signal" they interpret as the voice of The Blast.
Turf
The festering heart of their operations The Gullet (HQ) is deep within Greewerks. Scattered altars around The Rustway and The Shales.
Notable Assets
- The Gullet: An abandoned, half-collapsed Gree refinery in Greewerks, now a sacred site where industry’s corpse becomes the Choir’s cathedral.
- The Blackclad: A cadre of elite Voices clad in soot-drenched, ritual-bonded armor made from scraps of Greebeast hide and refinery wreckage.
- The Cradle: A half-flooded subchamber below the Gullet, filled with stagnant gree pools and broken machinery that hums faintly.
Quirks
- Imitation: Initiates ritually alter themselves to resemble Greebeasts, adorning their bodies with draped, leathery fabrics, greased tendrils of hair, and self-inflicted scars mimicking sucker-marks or tentacle swipes. Their movements are exaggerated and fluid, like the swimming motions of the beasts they revere.
- Hymns: The Choir's hallmark is their eerie, guttural chanting. These "Hymns" accompany rituals designed to harness and explore the mysteries of The Blast. Their chants are unsettling, a cacophony of screeches and drones that induce trance-like states in participants.
- Manifestation: Choir members often smear themselves with raw gree, believing it connects them to the spiritual essence of the Greebeast, enabling them to hear the “signal" more clearly.

Structure
The Cantor
The enigmatic leader of the Boiling Choir, the Cantor is the Keeper of Hymns. Masked and draped in flowing, tentacle-like robes stained with Gree residue, the Cantor is both prophet and conductor, orchestrating the Choir's rituals and shaping its sacred mission. Their voice, a haunting mix of guttural tones and eerie melodies, is said to summon echoes of the Greebeasts themselves. The Cantor is rarely seen outside the The Gullet.
Voices
The rank-and-file members of the Boiling Choir, the Voices are the heart of the faction. They chant, sabotage, and proselytize, carrying out the Choir’s missions with fervent devotion.
The Communicants
The Communicants are those who have undergone the transformative rite of Cauterization, emerging from the Boil as altered beings attuned to The Blast. Bearing the marks of their ordeal—scars, burns, blindness, muteness, and more—they are revered within the Choir as living testaments to power of The Blast. Each Communicant takes on a new name upon surviving the ritual, reflecting their rebirth and alignment with the Choir’s sacred mission. More than followers, they are seen as conduits for wisdom, often interpreting omens, guiding rituals, or serving as heralds of the Choir’s will.
