Priesthood of Hades

Overview

Hades is the god of the Underworld and the maintainer of the gates of the Underworld. He is the god of death.

Holy Symbol

    Black Ram

Chronic Anachronism Control

Hades seeks to control the flow of time through linking the metronomic rhythm to death itself. Something is always dying, whether it be an animal, a plant or a planet, each death gives a rhythm to time in the new measure that Hades is seeking to impose.

Priesthood Requirements

  Clerics must be Neutral Evil
Druids: None

Weaponry

The Priests of Hades are permitted to use a Bident (A two pronged Spear) as well as standard clerical blunt weaponry.

Armour

Standard Priest Armor and shield.

Spheres of Magic

The Priesthood of Hades accesses the following spheres:
All
Combat (Major)
Healing (Major)
  Divination (Minor)
Elemental (Major - for Earth Based Spells)
Healing (Major) and Reversed
Necromantic (Major) and Reversed
Summoning (Major)

Granted Powers

Sacrifices to Hades are done in a Bothros (βόθρος, "pit") or into a Megaron (μέγαρον, "sunken chamber") rather than at an altar as is done with other divinities. Therefore Hadean Clerics gain more power when underground. Whilst underground, the Hadean Cleric:
1. Can turn or control undead as if 2 levels higher.
2. Can as of level 3, cast Invisibility 1/day on themselves.
3, The casting of Raise Dead or Resurrection by the Hadean Cleric is more powerful than normal - the recipient will have a System Shock/Resurrection Survival Throw as if they have a Constitution of 18 (or at +1 to Con. if they have 18 or higher Con already).
4. From 9th level, all Hadean Priests gain Speak with the Dead 1/day in addition to their other spells each day.

Structure

The Hadean Clerics ranks are split into four grades:
1 - Undertakers (Level 1 - 4)
2 - Embalmers (Level 5 - 7)
3 - Reavers (Level 8 - 9)
4 - Reapers (Level 10+)

Culture

This is effectively a secret society, they keep their methods to themselves.

Public Agenda

The Hadean Clerics seek to increase the realm of their God. They do so by transforming underground dungeons and caverns into temples to Hades. Their goal is to create a universal Underworld for their God to rule, with the surface being used only to grow food.
