Fauna & Flora
Only Orthus Pups, and Minotaurs have a run of the Island now.
Natural Resources
The island is a rough and barren sandstone spike in the bay, it does have several natural springs of fresh water that penetrate down through the interior of the stone into an aquifer below the harbor floor. Among the hollowed area below the city ruins is a series of caves known as the Caves of Hercules which are rumored to act as an underground passage between the Reaches themselves.
History
Originally the outpost was simply a Corral for the Cattle of Geryon. The Corral grew over time to include all of the island and a settlement dedicated to Geryon and from which he could rule while on the Prime Material Plane. It is rumored that he used these cattle as the basis for the creation of his Minotaurs. Later, after the defeat of Geryon by Hercules the area fell into ruins.
The island was subsequently changed by Gadieros into an outpost and provisional seat of power for the Gadiera Principality, and was called Cadiz. It served as an outpost and a guarding point of Atlantis, but was soon passed over when the Cadiz Settlement went 'nautical' allowing itself to float upon the waters of father Poseidon. The floating capital has long moved off to the Western coastline of the Western Reach.
The Guardpost Building Site of Cadiz fell into disrepair once more and was soon over taken by the followers of Geryon - led by his head priest, the Lich Judge Herx.
