Atlantean Library

Overview

The Atlantean Library, also known as the Library of Atlantis, even before the was the most extensive collection of books, scrolls and librams in the World prior to the Chronic Anachronism of Chronos. After this event the entire Library underwent a series of Magical Changes, with sections from other times appearing in among it's records, book contents changed, and continue to change. The Library itself has spontaneously developed new doors, portals and depositories of knowledge appearing seemingly at random points in the Library.   The result has been not only an explosion of knowledge, but also an increased loss of knowledge through different parts of the library phasing and changing. The amount of knowledge in the library is now effectively limitless, and unfortunately the time needed to find the knowledge needed is also growing greatly.   Staff have slowly been driven insane with the changes in both information and spatial qualities within the Library.

Purpose / Function

The Atlantean Library was built to contain all of the knowledge of the World. It's staff have scoured the World seeking scrolls and books to fill the building. It is both a physical building to house information, but also a physical temple to the Muses and acts as a portal for knowledge into the Universe.

Alterations

The library has continued to expand over the centuries, but has never been limited by the physical realm - being able to dynamically expand into mirror realms and planes to expand in capacity.

Architecture

The classical Greek architecture has been enhanced internally with art from different time periods witnessed through the Chronic Anachronism effect of Chronos.

Tourism

Any sage may visit the library with an invitation from a librarian in good standing. These invitations are gained after petitioning the Library for research access to its records. In addition to the Petition method, the Wizards of Atlantis also have access to parts of the Library.   The Library has several hundred traveling Archeologist-Librarians seeking out knowledge around Atlantis, these travelers will trade with adventurers for information, maps and most of books and scrolls of importance. These Archeolibrarians are constantly coming and going, often accompanied by merchants, traders and porters from their expeditions.
