4 Fourth Street
Overview
This seemingly normal house on the street near to the Old Gate is said to be a Merchantman House which regularly takes in members of Caravans and Wagon Trains which are either about to leave or are freshly arrived in the City. This is effectively a lodging house for such Caravans. It also explains the guards at the door and the regular visitors at all hours of the day and night.Rumor
It is rumored to be a house of ill-repute, but not a brothel, rather a Guildhall for the City Thieves Guild. No one ever steals from this house.Reality
The house is indeed the Thieves Guildhall in the City, or rather the main entrance to a whole block of Thieves Guild buildings that have been linked together to appear to be a normal city block. In terms of Caravan Merchants who hire this 'company' they are guarded by the Guild's Own - namely the Thieves Guild Private Protection arm of the Guild Operations.Interior
The House on the inside gives way to several rooms that spread throughout the block - some of the side and rear entrances act as fronts for other businesses. In the Guildhall there are complete training facilities, beds, mess room, stores and even tunnels that allow guild members to traverse the city almost entirely underground if need be.Purpose / Function
This is the main guildhall for the town thieves guild. In this establishment the rogues can conduct business, plan jobs, research new skills and prepare for missions.
Alterations
The building is in actuality several buildings that have been linked together over time to form a very large guildhall. Some entrances appear to be shops. One is a small butchery, another is a bookie - taking bets but also fencing goods, and the main one acts as a Merchants Caravan House along with a fully operational stable.
Architecture
This is standard Runic Dwarven-Human frontier architecture with high gabled roof and well-built facades.
