The Divinarate ((Divi) (na) (rate))
The Divinarate is a union of three nations with rich intertwined history, the ambitious Rasini of Bathae, the hardy Volitari of Taria, and the free spirited Sackarti of the Nousarti planes. Each of these nations has their own capitol but the capitol of the entire Divinarate is the Rasini capitol of Rasinoplita. The leader of the Divinarate is the Holy Divinar who is descended from the royal line of the Nadians. The Divinarate is a very large and important entity in Tempertaria and is naturally also pretty decentralized though not as much as its southern neighbor Artesja.
The north of the divinarate is where the Rasini reside. They live in a temperate to subtropical climate and have plenty of good farmland to work. Forests become more and more frequent moving north and mountains mark the northern border of the Divinarate. To the south of the Rasini the Sackarti reside in the tropical environment of the Nousarti planes and desert. While some of them are still tied to a nomadic existence most of them prefer to live in the cities. They are byfar the most independent of the three. To the west on the Tarian coast you will find the volitari and the ancient city of Karillia. Their people are hardy and resillient, living right next to the Bezjan menace. They live on the line that seperates the Geminist world from the demons that wish to tear it down. It is no suprise that they make for exellent soldiers.
Through the cooperation of the three peoples, the Bezjan menace is held at bay. This is why they chose to stay united instead of going their own ways.
The founder of the Divinarate was the champion Fabien who led the Geminist world against the Bezjans. under his leadership the age of crisis was ended.
Structure
The Divinarate is led by the Holy Divinar, who at the current moment is Haeasvethi the Second.
Public Agenda
The Divinarate is the bulwark which stands between Geminism and the Bezjans. It must halt bezjan incroachment at all costs.
History
In the age of crisis the world was in peril and shadow. Bezjan wrath tore through the lands, burning cities and murdering innocent.
But in this dark age, a champion emerged from tradegy and took the helm of the Rasini. That champion was named Fabien Nadia, who with the blessing of Geminesus himself lead the Geminist world against the Bezjan menace and pushed closed the Tarian gateway. And in the meanwhile his colleague Erasin organized the union of the Volitari, Rasini and Sackarti. The Divinarate was founded, and prospered for three centuries. An age of glory had begun, where just rulers defended the world from terror and oblivion. However it would not last as nobles conspired to acclaim a weak ruler instead of the capable Caralio. Caralio had to fight a civil war to take the throne. Caralio though an exellent ruler was not a great father and his son was therefore not as good as him. The Divinarate had also seccumbed to the pride of the Rasini who saw themselves as superior to the Sackarti and Volitari. This lead to the slow dissolution of the Divinarate in the age of decline. Up in the Divine temple, Fabien saw this decline and knew that if the Divinarate needed to survive he had to intervine. He did as the gods had done with him and selected a champion to restore order. He chose a Sarili girl named Irene who then joined the legendary bodyguard known as Fabien's guard. From that position she took power and reformed the Divinarate as Fabien had intended. This is the Divinarate that survived to the modern day.
Territories
the territory fabia has includes: the basket which is the heartland of the fabi people. western coast of taria a small part of the volitari homeland. northern sartia the sackarti homeland. and saril a giant island beside the basket inhabited by fabi.
Military
The military is split into two main groups, the stratis, and the stratos. the stratis are the unprofessional levy troops, who would be raised to guard the forts, on the swedish border. The stratos were the professional standing army, that would respond to Bezjan breakthroughs into fabia. in addition to this, all the different people of fabia had to provide troops to the empire, the volitari are known for their shock cavalry and infantry, while the sackarti are some of the best archers and later snipers in the world.
The army at its peak numbered around 4 million standing soldiers, though the average was about 2 million.
