The Land of the Free

Kassathia is the country for those who aren't accepted anywhere else, those looking for a land where they can truly live their lives without any Holy Divinar, Upper Hierophant, King or Queen interfering with their life. The country is incredibly rich in resources from steel to diamonds to Voltstone, this is the biggest money maker for Kassathia. The country has good relations with most of the Geminist world, but has ideological quarrels with Rasina, and especially Fedria. Its capital is the city of Brianska where the government sits.

Structure

The Kassathian nation was built upon the idea that monarchy and hierarchies are tyrannical and should be avoided at all costs. Therefore, the Kassathian organization structure is constructed with the purpose of limiting the power of the state on the people. Therefore there is no direct class structure or such, however this does not exclude more subtle hierarchies of wealth and race that have yet to be confronted by most states in Tempertaria.

Public Agenda

Kassathia wishes to strengthen its defense against the Bezjan raids in the North, and gain ground in the international trade network.

History

Kassathia in the Era of Kings was merely another culture in the north of Tempertaria, the original half of the Kassani culture family. This changed with the First Impact, where the Kassani were all slaughtered by the Bezjans. The region was therefore for two thousand years a wild land where only animals and demons roamed, along with Ouakalian Tribes every now and then. Until, the Kassathian crusade, where Alonov "Nomad" Jaalisarkan went to the land of Kassathia to found a land where he and his army could live away from the hierarchies of most Geminist society. He attracted a bunch of people to his cause and established friendly ties with the neighboring Ouakalian tribes. Eventually when the Kassathian Bezjan gateway was closed, Nomad declared the founding of Kassathia as an independent land.

Founding Days

Nomad assembled a council to decide the laws of the land, and they elected Kalevia as the Countries first leader. Many wanted Nomad to lead the nation at first, but he refused since he feared he would become a tyrant. Kalevia secured good relations with neighboring and aside from nearly causing a war with Rasina, she did pretty well. Kalevia after ten years was succeeded by Nomad who was successfully convinced by Kalevia to run after her. He won and his first course of action was to reform the structure of the army as Bezjan activity up north had increased, he based his army reforms on the Artesjan army but adapted it to be more effective with a smaller force. Two years into his run, the powerful mineral Voltstone was discovered and Nomad was fascinated by it. He funded the research on the stone and built the foundations for the technological revolution that would come later.

The Fedrian Conflict

While the nation was slowly establishing itself, Kassathia would see one more challenge in its early years. The Fedrians were trying to establish colonies on the coast of Ouakalian territory, and tribal leaders came to Kassathia for aid. Nomad supported aiding the Ouakalian Tribes against Fedria, and he faced almost no opposition, So the Nation went to war. The war lasted one year with the Fedrians failing to hold their gains on the coast, they withdrew and settled for a white peace. This victory gave Kassathia a great ego boost and made the government more willing to flex its might on the world stage. It also further discouraged a military action from Rasina further than it had already been before.

Peace, Rock and Power plants

After the Fedrian conflict, the Kassathians signed defensive treaties with every major ouakalian tribe that was willing, proclaiming itself as the protector of northern sovereignty. The nation also finally figured out how to tap into the unbelievable power within Voltstone and the first power plant was constructed in Shagestra. However there was also growing tension between the original Artesjan population, and the newly arriving Rasini and Volitari immigrants. The Artesjans mostly lived in Brianska and the surrounding area, and the Rasini and Volitari mostly resided in Shagestra and the north. the southern port city of Raetia was more mixed with it also being a tourist destination for more well off Rasini from Saril and the basket. Culturally the Kassani were also beginning to express themselves, the working class culture in the north began fostering a rich music scene. Volitari immigrant workers especially contributed, founding the rock music scene in Kassathia which much much later would split into two strands, the southern more laid back, free flowing and funky sound. And the uncompromising hard rock of the north. There also was a growing fascination with the study of the original Kassani people that inhabited the hills before any Artesjan or Rasini ever sat foot in the land. Their symbols were increasingly seen on flags, logos and etc.

Technological Level

Kassathia has reached a new height of technology, with it being renowned as the greatest in the world. This is largely due to the discovery of Voltstone, which produces power to a level unparalleled by the likes of oil and others. It also works well as a core for the famed Kassathian Light guns. However Voltstone is still very rare, and not accessible to the average citizen, and the Nation still only has 12 Voltstone power plants.

Religion

Geminism is the state religion of the country.

Agriculture & Industry

The Nomadian population relies on hydroponic farm technology, with large underground complexes of farms all over the country.

Trade & Transport

Kassathia has a lot of trade with Rasina and a small amount with Artesja, however piracy is a big problem which forces Kassathia to send military vessels for guarding trade vessels.

Education

The Education in Kassathia is excellent.

Infrastructure

The Kassathian government under Alonov "Nomad" Jaalisarkan in the nations first years invested huge amounts of money into the public transport system. It was a huge success with millions of people utilizing it every day.
