Raythanya's Tavern
Founded in 5426NG by adventurers Ray Dusqesne and Ithanya Ancilar, this tavern is adventurer themed and driven. Replete with bits of cast off armor, rust-monster ruined weapons, and taxidermied Intellect Devourer. Random bras, corsets and bustiers hang from the charmingly exposed rafters of the one floor, seaside tavern, which serves up the best borscht in the city. Waifs and urchins are known to frequent the back doors, as the staff and proprietors are notoriously soft hearted, and wind up feeding a dozen children a night.
Raythanya's is purportedly a "pirate bar", and it may be, in the general scheme of things. But make no mistake; neither shenaningans nor malarkey are tolerated within its hallowed walls.
Purpose / Function
This drinking hole also has a few rooms for rent, though it is not an Inn by any means.
Design
Raythanya's is a one floor tavern, with a few rooms to rent off of the eastern side of the building. It is, in a word, sturdy, built to weather the southern storms and frequent floods of the area. It is made with thick, nautical beams and timbers that are hefty enough to protrude from the walls, and impressive to behold holding up the roof from within.
A feature of the bar that many folks speak about is the number of bras, brassiers, corsets, and bustiers hanging from said rafters.
Entries
The main entry is, of course, dockside, with several other exits and ingresses spread throughout the rest of the building.
Sensory & Appearance
During the day, with natural light spilling in through the large windows, the polished hardwoods of the premises really show off their natural chatoyancy. At night, in the flickering glow of the heatless torches common throughout the city, the wood lends a dark, mysterious appeal to the entire establishment.
Denizens
Everybody, from the shady underbelly of society to the societal magnates wanting to "slum-it" of an evening, has been to Raythanya's. It is one of the most famous bars in Greynor.
Contents & Furnishings
The tables and chairs in the tavern are all built with the same attention to sturdy longevity as the rest of the original building. The beds and bunks of the bedrooms are all newer construction, and while not up to the "originals" standards, are still far better quality than one would expect at a rented facility.
Valuables
Hazards & Traps
The bartender has access to a duece of loaded flintlock pistols, a cudgel, and a light crossbow with twenty bolts.
Alterations
It has been reshod seven times; three after storms, one after a big flood, and three times just "over the years". The roof was built of ship's timbers, and the shingles were replaced often enough that it is still the original framing that holds the whole cover up. The dockage is new-ish, having been replaced a few years ago, in 5797NG.
Architecture
It is built entirely of lumber that would normally be used to build a ship; it is a singularly sturdy construction in Greynor, where most buildings are built to be torn down and replaced quickly due to the many times the river floods.
I'm absolutely floored to see this in writing and represented in your world, brother. It's beautiful.
