High King Ascenscion Boris Cotnor, III
Raised to High King in Embers of 5574NG, young Caul Anders was voted in by the The High King's Seat after much in the way of political machination by his uncle, Fortuitous Cotnor. A cousin to the Kingdom of Cotnor's royal family, Caul assented to having his name changed for the good of the Kingdoms, and for the good of his home territory of the Cotnor Wilderness.

Personal history
Born into luxury, he was quickly whisked away to a relatively hard life on the tundra by his father, who was rumored to be descended from the werebears of the northern plains.
Education
When it became apparent that young Caul was gifted, as a youth, he was sent to the vaunted and venerable Bardic College Campus, in Greynor.
Employment
Caul was a reindeer herder, from a family of reindeer herders, with deep reindeer herding roots. His education propelled him into the present day, making his selection as the family's candidate for High King a foregone conclusion.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Young Caul was an accomplished hunter and outdoorsman, and older Ascenscion maintains that love of the outdoors, and of pristine wilderness. He leads expeditions into the tundra yearly for mammoth tusks and hides, braving the giant mammoth herders to do so. The meat of the great beasts is split evenly between the hunting party, and whichever clan's territory they happen to be in; as per ancient tradition and law.
Failures & Embarrassments
He has been unable to "produce an heir apparent", in that he has not been able to have children. He has tried several remedies to his predicament, up to and including a concerted effort to impregnate various concubines...all for the good of the Kingdoms, of course.
Mental Trauma
Losing his mother early to a hunting expedition was tough enough on young Caul, but his father disappeared when he went to to look for her, also, so Caul was sent to foster with Fortuitous Cotnor; an uncle through marriage, and the King of the territory and city-state of the Kingdom of Cotnor.
Fortuitous is not a kind man, although he did recognize the political potential, in the charismatic and intellectually gifted Caul, immediately. The King formally adopted Caul, changing his name to Ascenscion Cotnor in the process.
