Highly intelligent and entirely self sufficient, Bjornsonn believes his wife to be alive and held prisoner by his cousin, Fortuitous Cotnor.
Bjornsonn firmly believes he has been betrayed by his cousin Fortuitous. His son Caul was taken from him when he left to try to find Myah, and was adopted by Fortuitous and his wife Adelphia Cotnor, who went to great lengths to estrange the boy from his father, telling young Caul that his real father was dead, just like his mother.
