Erica Blaine

One of only two humans that are members of the Altean Army besides Damon, Erica is the only female member outside of Sasha. She is a potent shaper once she's warmed up a bit, crackling with electrical energy once she's practiced enough. In combat she uses a weighted saber, augmented with maiga to enhance their capabilites to a level suitable to deal with Diezen Mechans. She is open with her thoughts, no matter how abbrasive they may be, and shows hints of a cheerful disposition hidden under trauma and the weight of her station.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Many underestimate how well trained her body is, having both strength and dexterity in her frame.

Identifying Characteristics

A large scar arcs across her left cheek, from the corner of her mouth almost to her ear, left from a severe slash in her first encounter with Angor's Diezens. Her right arm is a metal prosthetic from the shoulder down, the original having been cut off by Angor himself the same night.

Special abilities

• She has a bizzare interaction with maiga, in that her base proficiency with it is not very high, though the longer she consecutively uses it, the stronger her abilities become. She has a particular affinity for lightning, though is more flexible with elements than many shapers.
• Her shaping tends to focus on imbuing herself and her weapon over the more sorcerous styles most shapers prefer. She can store energy in her blade and use it to either cut through materials too hard for it normally, or fire it off in a destructive shot. She has enhanced her movement speed and reaction times with maiga as well.
• She has an uncanny level of awareness, as such she is rarely snuck up on.

Apparel & Accessories

Her typical outfit consists of a light blue shirt under an open brown military-style longcoat, with pants and boots to match the coat. A light blue Matrix Maigum hangs from a cord around her neck. Her saber is hung on her left hip.

Mental characteristics

Accomplishments & Achievements

• She managed to fend off a major Diezen incursion well enough to save herself and a handful of others when just discovering her shaper powers.
• Managed to join the Altean Army as its third of currently three human members.
• Has become viewed as an equal to the combat-oriented hyper advanced mechans Kashii and Jason in terms of ability.

Failures & Embarrassments

• Lacking Damon's invulnerability, she has to carry herself more carefully in combat. While this is hardly a downside anyone could be faulted for, she still feels as though it makes her a lesser member of the Army due to lacking a mechan's durability.
• In learning her powers during a Diezen assault, she used them too much, and the amount of power she harnessed exceeded that which she could control, killing one and harming more of the group she was protecting. This has greatly tempered her use of maiga outside of what is neccessary.
• Regardless of public perception and reassurance from her peers, she views herself as the weak link within the Army.
