Lost Pagoda

Deep within the densely forested slopes of the Grey Peaks, situated on a the edge of cliff and surrounded by unnaturally large cedars and hemlocks, sits a pagoda of Soulmeliti design. With blue tiled roofs and red lacquered pillars, the two story pagoda is at once both humble and awe-inspiring. It looks both one with the forest yet supernaturally embedded into it. Deer, squirrels, and other forest animals play on the small lawn that surrounds it, perfectly manicuring the grass yet never disturbing the small, decidedly perfect Soulmeliti flower garden. On colder days, a thin wisp of white smoke can be seen curling from its roof.

The Lost Pagoda

Within one finds a few simple, yet elegant chambers, including and entry way that leads to a comfortable audience chamber. Here, a tea set dating back to before the fall of Khardin rests on a low ebony table, surrounded by cushions of soft velvet, the purple of midnight. Screens around the room depict black and white screens touched with a fine, if thick, brushstroke. The paintings depict scenes of nature - from great mountains to wide plains. Centermost, directly across from the doorway, the screen depicts a moon falling from the sky, trails of vapor in its wake. At the bottom of the screen a small altar holds pair of matched Jians in a simple, yet elegant stand, a lock of fiery red hair tied neatly around the blade.

Though none have ever travelled beyond this audience chamber, the rooms behind hold a shrine to Tyloma, a small sparing studio, and a surprising well stocked library. The second floor holds only a pair of simple, et well appointed sleeping chambers.

Built by the hands of one woman over centuries, its construction served as both penance and catharsis for Ver'sheli Roen'shai as a temple to her goddess. and resting place for the great blade Veracous. The air hums with holiness and even the most casual practitioner of the art can feel the presence of powerful protective magics, the least of which is the inability for the pagoda to be found should its owner not wish it, that ensure this greatest gift to the Soulmeliti.
