Ulric d'Uthar VII

Emperor of Eldoria

Ruler of the Empire of Eldoria for only three short years, Ulric VII is a cautionary tale to future leaders, including his son, the current child emperor. Fed up with corruption in his government, especially within the Karradone Sentinels who took bribes from the Imperial Forgers instead of protect local businesses from the guild's own protection rackets, he sent filled the streets of the capital with Imperial Legionnaires. The soldiers, far less susceptible to bribes, cracked down on local guild enforcers and soon the city's prisons were overflowing. The Imperial Forgers, having placed operatives deep within the Imperial bureaucracy, had a dead golden eagle - the bird of prey with whom the d'Uthar Family is often associated - laid on his bed. Instead of taking the hint Ulric posted a reward for anyone willing to report bribes. A week later, he tragically died in a fire at the Imperial Palace in Eldarin, the cause of which was never discovered.
