Just Cause
Serving as the keepers of its peace, guardians of its borders, and when needed its military might, the Grand Duchy of His Lord Mennith has centralized all of its armed forces into Just Cause. Open to any who swear to the both the Cause and the Lord this army is one place that anyone in Mennithite society can escape from the circumstances of their birth. Advancement is based strictly on merit and faith, with senior officers determining the structure and disposition of troops. Only the Council of Fathers provides oversight to the Cause and even then, its oversight is theoretically in the form of advice and ideas. In truth, however, the Council and its head, the Lord Justice speak the word of Mennith and it is rare for the Cause and Council to disagree.
