Harkin Ironreaver
Mining Engineer
One of the brightest mining engineers to come out of the Underground Kingdom in the past millennium, Harkin spent most of his life digging tunnels that few thought were possible. His work can be seen in the lowest levels of New Kharolin, especially in the newest silver mines that wind below the city's southeastern corner. By using a switch back pattern, much like a cart trail might to climb steep cliff, Harkin's tunnels travel hundreds of feet down to the find the newest veins off silver in the shortest time possible.
His crowning achievement, however, was work contracted by the Kingdom of Galencia to repair a section of the Trans-Rheuthengage Highway after an earthquake. Using an all Khadra workforce, he led the design of a great tunnel - some two leagues long - to cut through a particularly steep section of mountain. The section of highway, deep beneath the mountains even contains an outpost for the Imperial Legion and a roadside inn.
Harkin was sadly lost in a accident of his own. Harkin was leading a prospecting expedition south and east of the Kingdom, looking for potential sites for a new settlement and mine near Four Winds Lake when an another Your Earthquake collapsed on of the party's exploratory tunnels, burying Harkin and most of his team beneath tons of rubble.
