Guy d'Andor

Count of Krellia

Barely into his twenties, Guy inherited the mountain county of Krellia, complete with its failing mines and crumbling castle. As the region suffers from centuries of drain on its natural resources, the young count finds himself with few revenues, crushing debt, and a dwindling tax base as people steadily emigrate to more promising parts off the Empire.

Rather than find surrounded by the various Krellian timber merchants, many of whom are minor lords in his own court and hold the bulk of Guy's debts, the young count has elected to take the advice of his elders. He fled to seek a wife. That journey took him to Phelandria for the past several moons, where he seeks an eligible maiden - with a hefty dowery - to bear him sons and bolster his failing coffers. With a crooked smile, a glitter in is eyes, and strong chin, he has turned many young heads in the Jewel of the Empire. His financial situation, however, has turned just as many older ones quickly away.

One young lady that keeps returning his attentions is none other than Princess Carolina le Carre. Much to the dismay of her mother, the sole heir to the Duchy of Phelandria has spent a trio of dances and several evenings in Theater Row on the Count’s arm. The Duchess has on several occasions offer to take young court to Eldarin with her, hoping that another young heiress might catch his fancy at the Imperial Palace. Her father however, who has no need for an alliance with Krellia for political or monetary purposes, has thus far indulged his daughter, leading to speculation that the Duke has some sort of devious destiny in mind for the Count.

Guy, for his part, spent his youth in the saddle and on the sparring ground. Apparently deft with a saber, he did his best to wriggle free of his more academic tutors. Books - and sitting still to read them - hurt his head. As such, he has little formal training in courtly matters and leans into instincts for all of his diplomatic dealings. His instincts - more often direct that decorous - have thus far led him into the webs of the Le Carre, each determine to send him down very different destinies, though it appears that Guy is blissful ignorant anything beyond the Princess's attentions.
