Galencia Corps of Engineers
Funded by the crown and managed much like, though separate from, the Galencian Military, the Galencia Corps of Engineers represent the finest architects, construction experts, and environmental designers in Tarien. Their responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of Castle Malta, one of Tarien's grandest and tallest citadels, as well as the defensive structures for the cities of Geyla and Geran. More impressively, they manage the network of roads that connect Galencian towns and mines through the mountains . While most of the roads follow the natural contours of the land, seeking passes and going around the steepest mountains, they have been know to carve wide stairs into the mountainsides and span great chasms to achieve their goals. The most audacious of these projects, of course, being the Trans-Rheuthengage Highway. Although funded mostly by Eldoria , the Corps took the lead on construction in mountains, with their crowning jewel being a 2 -league long tunnel, completed in 709 AC and serving as a reroute after a rockslide took out a section of highway.
