Portraits of Kandar always show him with his goatee and its always painted dark. In truth, journals from his contemporaries clearly state that he grew it only after his hair had begun to silver. One thing both portraits and first hand accounts agree is fierceness of his stare. As one of the first great explorers, the tales of his iron will are innumerable beit pushing his fearful crew into uncharted waters or staring down Jendredi himself as he manifested in a tropical storm at sea. Often nicknamed the "the grandfather of Azermathia", his crews discovered the Gulf of Azermathia and Redstone Basin, paving the way for future colonies. His discoveries and the wealth that they brought Yaty, led to his knighthood and, later in life, title as the Baron of Azermathia.
