Borin Coppervein
Prospector
Standing at an average height for a Khadra, Borin has a weathered face framed by long auburn hair and deep-set chestnut eyes that always seem to be scanning the horizon. He wears his full beard in a quartet of braids, often knotted together at the bottom. His clothes are always of excellent make, though often worn and dusty. Though he walks with a slight limp, the memento of a bad fall during his younger years, his frame his still hale and his movements spry. He is famous for his "eye shields", an invention purchased from a traveling Nerrid that protects his vision from the inevitable dust and debris encountered in new mines. He has also been known to use caged lizards as a means of testing the air in new constructions - their tongues far more sensitive to changes than any Kharda could for on their own.
Borin has lived in and around Katzpütch for the past decade, scraping by as a prospector and
occasionally as a guide to others in the southern Rheuthengage Mountains. Known forhis enthusiastic but sometimes exaggerated claims, Borin is always on the verge of a big score. And recently, if rumors are to be believed, he has found it. Somewhere, known only to him, of course, is a rich vein of copper deep within the Larkspur Range. He is sure that with proper investments he can build an operation that makes him, and his investors of course, wealthy beyond belief. While he has managed to gather a few other local miners to jumpstart operations, he has yet to secure an investor. This might be related to a pair of previous "can't miss" investment opportunities that he has brought to patrons at the Inn of Many Names over the past few years.
Always charismatic, Borin is a natural salesmen who tells stories with vivid detail. His claims often seem too good to be true, yet it's hard not to get swept up in the energy.
When pressed for specifics about his past missteps, however, Borin can become evasive and defensive. Despite his lack of investors in the Larkspur mine he has recently bought several at the Inn's latest incarnation and sports a pair of fine new rings. While this may be related to his new mine, it might also be related to rumors that he has been seen sharing the occasional mug of all with known members of the Freelancers, always dubious source of capital.
