The Laws of Tarantellia

1. Tarantellia has hard magic. There are locations where size, gravity, and concentration of magic vary. There are maps available with this information; however, I will not publish them for the sake of future players.   2. Certain magics that are common in other fantasy settings can have catastrophic repercussions. For example, a person can be over-healed. In these instances, the PCs and NPCs might develop growths that need to be removed.

Cosmology

Tarantellia is a world believed by most tarants to be created by the goddess, Malmi, and her fellow godlike being, Basi. The semantics of the creation story varies by culture and location. Many believe a spider goddess wove the world into existence and a necromancer's magic brought her designs to life. Unfortunately, that is where most of the resemblance stops. The relationship between the almighty beings ranges from fierce enemies to lovers. Some believe they were kin and others do not believe in their existence. Some follow one and believe the other to be a myth. Most of the fae do not care one way or another, preferring instead to worship chaos.

Principal Geography & Features

Each continent has special properties and features, but none of them exist throughout the world. Due to the relationship between magic and tarants, you will see that magic can even influence the physical form of humanoids on a large scale.   Orie Country: Low to No Magic.   Giant Country: Depending on how you get there, you might notice some Alice in Wonderland type changes.   Claw Continent: Levels of Magic are like standard role-playing systems.

Initial Active Setting

There is a world map that is approximately the size of earth but my focus is currently on the Claw Continent and the Northern Continent above it.
