Nyriia Ilimear
Nyriia Ilimear is a
Moon Elf scholar and mage, and a member of one of the noble families belonging to the Great House of Elarya. Fascinated by the history of the ancient
Ithyrian Elves and their
lost empire, as well as the ancient
Dragons who ruled the world before them, Nyriia has set out into the world in search of ancient ruins and relics to study.
Physical Description
Nyriia has a slender physique like most other Moon Elves.
Like all Elves, Nyriia has slightly sharper facial features than a typical human, and has the pointed ears typical of Elves.
Nyriia is a skilled mage, with a particular focus on illusion and water magic, as well as some skill with Druidic magic.
Nyriia wears a long sleeved tunic, a cloak, a mid-length skirt, leggings, and travel boots, all of fine make.
Nyriia carries an ornate Silverwood staff topped with a Moonstone focus, as well as a pack containing a bedroll, some provisions, and all of her notes.
Mental characteristics
Thanks to her noble background, Nyriia recieved a high level of education, with a particular interest in the history of magic and the mage empires. She also recieved extensive training with her ability to use magic.
Before setting out on her expedition, Nyriia served as an apprentice archivist for House Elarya.
Nyriia possesses a keen intellect, with a strong focus on historical and magical lore. She's also level-headed and analytical.
Nyriia strongly believes in the ability for knowledge to improve the world, and believes that beneficial knowledge shouldn't be withheld from anyone. Additionally, she believes in being open to new experiances and opportunities to learn.
Personality Characteristics
Nyriia has a keen fascination with the history of magic and its users, and the influence they've had on the world. It's this fascination that motivated her to venture far from home, in order to further her knowledge.
Nyriia is skilled at using magic, and is well versed in the academic fields of history and magical theory. However, due to her noble upbringing, she lacks what could be considered "street smarts".
Nyriia has a great appreciation for knowledge, and is always willing to share what she knows with anyone who asks. Her education and analytical mindset has also made her highly knowledgeable in a variety of subjects.
Due to her more analytical mind, Nyriia some difficulty handling situations that fall outside of typical reasoning. Additionally, she tends to prioritise the safeguarding of knowledge, which can cause issues if it conflicts with other priorities.

Renault lent much of his knowledge to Nyriia's research, and provided her with a place to stay when she first arrived in Lynvael. While she's since left to explore the rest of Imera, the two still keep in touch.

History
Renault first met Nyriia seven years ago, shortly after she'd left her home in the Silverlight Isles to conduct her research. Recognising her as a member of the Elven Great House Elarya, as well as their shared interest in the history and influence of magic, he agreed to provide her with a place to stay at his residence while she was still in the city, and was willing to share whatever knowledge she needed from him. This collaboration would continue for two years, providing a great boon to their respective studies, until Nyriia decided to venture out further into Imera, believing she'd find greater breakthroughs conducting her research in the field. Despite this, the two of them would remain in touch with one another in the years since, sharing both breakthroughs they'd made as well as idle conversation.

History
Sorinn and Nyriia first met almost two years ago, not long after Nyriia first set out to conduct her research in the field. It would be at a tavern in western Myrell where their paths would first cross, with Nyriia being in the area seeking a bodyguard to protect her while conducting her field research, and Sorinn stopping over in the area while looking for work. Recognising how they can both benefit from it, the two of them struck up a partnership, one which has lasted lasted into the present day. Nyriia appreciates the safety and company having a travel companion brings her, while Sorinn appreciates the steady work their partnership brings her, and while she may act indifferent, she appreciates having some company.

Sorinn needed work, and Nyriia needed protection while out in the field.
Nyriias noble upbringing does give her access to a high amount of wealth, though she lives by a more modest lifestyle while travelling.
