Spooktober 2023 Prompt 27: Drown - Verti
This is a meta article created for the 2023 Spooktober competition
For Prompt 31: Drown, I have written an article about Captain Vertixico, the famous captain twice drowned.
Since the early days of the Anvil there has existed a peculiar tradition: Drowning Vertixico.
The tradition, explained in more detail in the author's own article about Verti the Vagabond, was turned years ago into a competition where Anvilites would write about a character (or something else) named after Verti, that had to die by a method related to water or ice, preferably drowning, and participants were awarded what is my favourite badge yet. During Spooktober 2022, this old event was sneakily revived with prompt 31, "Drown", and those who drowned Verti received a new edition of the Verti Slayer badge.
This year the last prompt has been repeated... So since last time I wrote about a sunken ship named after a grand drowned captain, this time I wrote the article for the Captain Vertixico himself!
