Radiant Prelate Mathaera Dolan (muh-THAIR-uh DOH-lan)

Mathaera Dolan is the Radiant Prelate of the church of Sunpyrion, based in Taliara, and works tirelessly to further the church's aims, aid those in need, and grow the nation of Pyria.
The Prelate is in her early fifties, and is utterly dedicated to her faith and the church, selflessly devoted in her worship of her deity. In return, Sunpyrion has granted her immense magical power, and assassination attempts by enemies of the church, notably the Links of Tyranix, have revealed celestials invisibly standing watch over her.
The formal title of the Radiant Prelate is to address them as 'Radiance', and Dolan is also entitled Defender of the Faith and Light of the Great Flame, in recognition of her role leading the church of Sunpyrion and serving as the mortal representative of Sunpyrion himself. Her robes of office consist of yellow and red silk under-robes, with layers of swirling semi-transparent silks and gauzes billowing over the top like flames. Instead, Mathaera commonly wears far simpler robes as she goes about the business of the church and her people, and it is not unknown for new ambassadors to Pyria to mistake her for one of her secretaries. When she focuses her attention on them they are quick to abandon that idea.
Dolan serves as a member of the Council of Eleven, the council which oversees all Pyrian affairs and directs the course of the realm. She has been noted for her dedication to the well-being of her people, both individually and as a nation, and it is not unknown for her to make time to meet a single humble Pyrian missionary before they depart so she can bless them and gift them with a set of Pyrian mage-silk robes to protect them on their travels.
The people know of Dolan's devotion to them, and return it in equal measure. When she is scheduled to preach the sermon at the Grand Cathedral on a holy day or special holiday, the crowds that turn out to see her are immense, and the cheers form a near-solid wall of sound.
