Venus

Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It is sometimes called Earth's "sister" or "twin" planet as it is almost as large and has a similar composition. As an interior planet to Earth Venus, like Mercury, appears in Earth's sky never far from the Sun, either as morning star or evening star. It is, after the Moon, the brightest natural object in Earth's sky, capable of casting visible shadows on Earth at dark conditions and being visible to the naked eye in broad sunlight.
Venus was the first body in the system to be terraformed and has a healthy ecosystem as a continental planet. It is the homeworld of the Human Elevation Foundation and the jewel of the solar system to many as the only infection free fully habitable planet. It is the home of Elevated Humans.

Geography

Venus' geography is that of a garden world. It has several populated and forested continents as well as a rich hydrosphere. The slow rotation of Venus however give it its strangest feature. As it takes years to rotate the seasons of Venus are set by what side is facing the sun. This creates an arctic half and a warm wet tropical half. With the shorter "Spring" and "Fall" boarders and beautiful twilight land of waterfalls or slowly falling leaves.

Ecosystem

The world is one half a constant frozen winter the other a rich jungle. Both the plantlife and wild life of Venus has either adapted to survive 2/3rds an earth year long winters as snow bound creatures and evergreens or handle incredibly long hibernation cycles. Within the oceans are rich assortments of fish and water-bound mammals and reptiles that live in constant nomadism following the sunlight rich side of the planet. Some mammals have adapted to following a series of land bridges on the frozen oceans surface to stay constantly at the edge of twilight. This ecology has made Venus utterly unique.

Climate

The local climate shuffles slowly between winters of artic and tundra level temperatures and conditions to temperate and jungle conditions matching that of Thailand or japan on earth.

History

The technologies used to solve earths climate crisis turned out exactly the same technological edge needed to clean Venus' hothouse atmosphere. Venus became a target of colonization for the United Earth Sphere specifically the member states of The New Republic of China, Thai People's Republic, Republic of Japan, Unified Korean Republic, and the Republic of Indonesia who were less invested in the Mars colonization effort popular among the western states and India.
The terraforming of Venus was wildly successful and proved key in the beginnings of repairing Mars atmosphere, using Quantum Manipulation to move atmosphere from Venus to Mars. All member stats of UES began to invest in Venus eventually forming the Ishtar Development Council, a technocratic organization of researchers to manage the development.
Venus remained the second gem of the Solar System all throughout the golden age of the UES. However as the The First Wave broke across the system, the Ishtar Development Council would separate from the UES and form the Human Elevation Foundation where it has remained the break aways capitol and the sole garden world not to bare any marks of infection.

Tourism

Venus has a lot of very tightly controlled immigration and tourism as it is considered a utopian world of plenty. Moving to Venus or visiting it requires a great deal of visa work, and living there is all but impossible without a high level degree as the highly educated are prioritized by the Foundation to the extreme.
Those who visit are forced to admit it is as beautiful as they say, covered in waterfalls and rich black soil, made rich after year of volcanic atmosphere bleeding into the earth, oceans with a rich green and blue coloring and perfectly engineered cities and land usage.
Others however note that one can not escape a sameness in their cities, a loss in character in its perfection. A sadness in its heavy pressured society of science first methodology. The people of Venus however, would argue this is pure jealousy.
