How to reduce potentially toxic levels of pollutant in a food substance without completely ruining it for consumption.

How to conduct fine-tuned emergency equipment repairs on handheld devices while running at nearly top speed.

How to bribe anyone in a military uniform, how to estimate the amount of time before the officer in question decides the bribe no longer influences their choices in the briber's favor, how to record bribes in progress, how to smuggle the recording to a media source or vindictive political factor that will use this recording to debilitate the bribe-taking authority figure.

Belgar is a competent pilot, no doubt about it. She handles starfighters, medium or light freighers, speederbikes, repulsorlift tractors, and (on one notable heist) a jetpack well enough to qualify for multiple commercial pilot licenses if she ever dropped by a BoSS testing facility.

Somehow, Belgar cannot develop a habit of scanning for trouble in the five seconds before she lands.

Since she joined the Fortune Hunters, this unfortunate oversight continued unabated. Her starfighter got stolen on Kjøkken by Riot when the Black Hats fled a transport-robbery-gone-wrong. Blood Wind Raiders swarmed the medium freighter Hammerhead within minutes of landing on Doris and took off with entire landing jet assemblies -- which, of course, meant the Hammerhead would not be able to lift off again as scheduled.

Belgar really needs a copilot in charge of sublight navigation, honestly. Too bad she finds the idea insulting!
