Akhaale Reclaimers Organization in Spacial Tangent | World Anvil

Akhaale Reclaimers

Once masters of the stars, after a brutal civil conflict, the Akhaale retreated to their home system in search of Atonement. After weathering a fearsome attack from the Delkhiin Khanates however, the Akhaale have decided that no more will they languish in their ruined home system. Once again, the Akhaale set forth to find greatness among the stars.

Structure

While formerly the Vhok Nredahk (Order Penitent) served as merely a peacekeeping force, following the recent battle for the home system, the Order has seized control of the Akhaale. At its zenith is now the Archon, the head of the Order Penitent and the commander in chief of the Reclaimers. Below them is a militaristic hierarchy, appointed by those at the top. Its rulers are relatively new to leader their nation, and militarily they have much to learn about their own capabilities.   Below them is the Vhok Evhaan (Order Ecclesial), such scarred by the battle and the political fallout afterwards, the Ecclesiarchy still plays an important role in society, serving to help guide and temper the ambitions of the Order Penitent. Having literal millennia of experience, the Ecclesiarchy is still responsible for most public services such as education and basic governance.   The Vhok Zhenaale (Order Artifice) are responsible for maintaining and building the great works of the Akhaale. Though boasting of the great feats of their people, one doesn't have to look deep to understand the artificers don't truly know how their own technology works. Rather, they are skilled at working Essence, that is the clouds of advanced nanite assistants that are the cornerstone of Akhaale society and the legacy of their forebears.   With most needs being taken care of by basic AI, the Akhaale don't have a traditional lower class. Rather, most people fall into the above three organizations, with others being lone hermits or individuals considered leeches on society.

Public Agenda

As their name implies, the goal of the Reclaimers is to reach across the stars and reclaim the greatness of their ancient civilization. Though the exact details are vague. Out among the stars are the planets they once abandoned, and technologies long forgotten. It is only by going out once more that the Akhaale believe they will be able to survive as a people.

Assets

The Akhaale are centered around three colossal Starliners that also double as their mobile homes. These are Ekhaaros: Throne of Reclamation, Thevas: The Prophet's Retreat, and Kheraan, the Forge of Worlds. Grandiose naming aside, these vessels are leviathan constructs even by the standards of Starliners, each spans 400 km across, though they are rather flat and thin vessels. They also possess defensive fleets of vessels and automata, though they are aged and battered from battle and age.   Though the Order Penitent was a relatively small peacekeeping and judicial force, following their ascension, they have had an influx of new recruits. Still, the Akhaale are largely dependent on drones to do their fighting.

History

Over ten thousand years ago, the Akhaale, with the blessing of their god, Hadar, spread across the stars occupying a large portion of the galaxy. Though they had conflicts with long-forgotten rivals, the Akhaale founded a powerful empire.   What befell the First Empire however was not an external threat, but rather, within. A feud over power resulted in a great civil war. Though the details of the time have been obscured by legend and scripture, the end result was clear, the destruction of their homeworld, and the death of their god.   After the dreadful battle, the colonies were abandoned, either withdrawn home or left to fend for themselves. The Akhaale performed a sort of exile from the galaxy of large, sealing themselves off in great ark ships about their home system, bound to witness the cost of their hubris for all eternity.   Or so the Elders thought. One day, outside forces attacked their great arks, thinking them salvage for the taking. In their prime, the Akhaale would have easily destroyed them, but due to millenia of atrophy and a great loss of knowledge many of their arks were crippled or destroyed, with billions of Akhaale helpless to stop it.   Following the battle, the Elders were found to be incapable of rebuilding Akhaale society. A rebellious group lead by Zhana Esthavahn zet Nethaar overthrew them and had them publicly executed.   Too long had the once great Akhaale people cowered in their system for the sins of the past. Instead the great engines of the children of Hadar roared to life, as they set out upon the stars once more.

Demography and Population

Following the Invasion of Hadar, the Voidborne Akhaale number at approximately 5 billion individuals spread across their great Ark Ships. Thanks to the support of technology, the Akhaale have a live span that can last for up to a millennium. The isolationism of their past decree lead to a harsh enforcement of population controls, leading to a relatively low birthrate. As they expand back into the stars again, reproduction is encouraged, though doing such is raising outcry about rights and societal roles.

Territories

The Akhaale once controlled most of the 'north eastern' portion of the Galaxy. Their ruins dot anywhere between 100 to 1000 worlds. However, they have been reduced to just Hadar and their three Ark Ships.   Still, out there, might be abandoned enclaves of Akhaale who have found their own way.
