Delkhiin Khanates

The Delkhiin are a species of nomadic raiders.

History

Long ago, the four khanates were united under the Great Khan in the Delkhiin Empire, a powerful civilization that spanned the entirety of their planet. The reason for the unification was a lack of resources on their homeworld. Famine was a part of life for every Delkhiin and people grew desperate. Believing his people to be on the verge of extinction, the Great Khan sought prosperity and a future on other planets. He began uniting the tribes through demonstrations of power and by defeating smaller leaders, eventually leading the entire Delkhiin population to war with other civilizations. They proved to be a nearly unstoppable force, the Khan proving to be a master of strategy and total warfare. However, it wasn’t long before other, more powerful civilizations, began to take notice of the belligerent upstarts. Their homeworld was glassed during a final conflict, one in which their planet was invaded and the Great Khan was killed. This was the final straw for the already dying planet and it resulted in over two-thirds of the Delkhiin population being killed. The Great Khan died without a successor, leaving a power vacuum for the remaining tribes to try and seize. After years of civil war, the empire was fragmented into four separate khanates, all claiming their own reasons for legitimacy. A shadow of its former self, the Delkhiin are now seen galactically as little more than a nuisance, their power lost and their reputation with it.
