Eye of Hadar
Eyes of Hadar a great spheres created by the Akhaale ages ago. Referred to as "Hyperspace Cores" by other species, they are self-contained highly efficient Space Fold drives.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
An Eye of Hadar is an almost featureless sphere save for a single recessed band that runs across it. Little is understood about the interior of an Eye because their shells are extremely durable, and all recent attempts to open them have resulted in catastrophic destruction. One does not figure out how to make an Eye of Hadar, one figures out how to use it.
An Eye of Hadar is a power source, a fold drive, and a navigator rolled into one. It would appear to rely on vacuum energy for generation, and if Voidborne Akhaale stories are to be believed, they also contain a portion of their god, Hadar.
