Deepkin

The Deepkin are the splinter of the Elderkin who remained below ground in the years following the Elderkin Schism.  They retain the pale, almost translucent skin tones of their ancestors, and the large pale eyes adapted to their many generations in the Hollow Earth.
After the Destruction and the collapse of the Hollow Earth, they emerged onto the surface.  Most Deepkin live in Novalucca , concentrated within and below the capital of Deepmot , but over the last thousand years, many have spread out and integrated within other cultures from the Shimmerlands, Uferbrech and the Protectorates and north to the Circle of Malama.

Genetics and Reproduction

While many would vehemently deny this is possible, there is enough similarities between Deepkin and their long sundered kin, the Arkin , that unions and interbreeding are possible.  Unions between the Deepkin and Midkin  are uncommon but acknowledged, especially beyond the borders of Novalucca.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Long adapted to living underground, the Deepkin have exceptional vision in darkness, but conversely suffer in bright daylight of Sunside. Many have trained their keen sense of hearing to be almost as effective as sight is for their surface cousins.
