Red Countess

The Red Countess is the feudal ruler in charge of the Red Pass County. The position is a direct vassal to the Duchy of Dwyns. The title is unisex and passes to the eldest direct heir with sorcery, whether they are a sorcerer or sorcress. It just happens to be the case that the current ruler is a sorceress and thus is called "Countess" rather than "Count".

Duties

The Red Countess has a moral obligation to look to the safety and welfare of pilgramages to the memorial shrine of Fremiss the Vibrant.

Responsibilities

Meet obligations to his liege and see to the basic protection and welfare of the denizens of the County of Chestnuts.

Benefits

Collect income and taxes from the Red Pass County. Command the loyalty of the local barons.
The income here is not great, but there is informal prestigious for controlling a major site of history in the Fremiss family.
