Kiki lives in the abandoned hidey-hole under the stove in Vasilly's hut.

Personal history
Kiki was attracted to Vasilly's hut after the original Domovoi disappeared, leaving the hut a so-called Dead House. She spent her first night in her new hidey-hole gathering a collection of trinkets from around Vasilly's home and taking them back to her nest, magpie-style. She made sure that she only took items that would be unlikely to be immediately noticed. As her collection grew, Kiki gained greater strength and confidence.
One day Kiki decided to "gift" Bogdan, who likes animals, a swarm of spiders. The gift worked perfectly, causing delightful chaos. To get rid of the attacking spiders, Vasilly had to chop a makeshift hole in the wall of Bogdan's room, and then set a fire to scare away the (now-flaming) spiders. Kiki was able to get away, leaving the rightful inhabitants of the hut to put out the fires. After surveying the damage, Vasilly and the others left to the nearby village of Ketterpesh to purchase a new Bed for Bogdan.
When they returned, they found Kiki lounging by their familyroom fireplace stroking one of Bogdan's pet Rabbits. After a quick struggle in which Kiki was thoroughly bested, she agreed to take Vasilly and his family to her hideyhole, where they found an array of stolen items and a block of Unmelting Ice. Vasilly retrieved the items he considered most important (his missing son's toy, a few books, and the Vodka), and Baboushka retrieved the ice to study more closely. However, they allowed Kiki to keep most of the other items she'd collected, and they let her stay with them, making Kiki a fast ally to these strong, kind protectors.
Kiki's initial enthusiasm was met with dismay as she served up putrid Blini for breakfast and almost set the house on fire (again) when she tried to add vodka to Vasilly's batch. When he saw her using the wrong side of a broom to try to sweep the floors, Vasilly made Kiki promise not to do any more housework until she'd been taught how to do it properly.
