Handsome Monkey King, formerly known as Stone Monkey, has graciously accepted his self asserted roll as King of All Monkeys in the Universe Who is Most Handsome (and Incredibly Strong Too). Realizing that he is still young and foolish after being tricked by a wujen into giving up his favorite fruit tree, he chose a lieutenant to lead the Monkeys Waterfall Cave and set upon a quest. His stated goal is to vecome more wise than any sage and return as the best most worthy King of Monkeys. As of the 921 Ninth Month of the Celestial Calendar in the Prime Material Plane, the Handsome Monkey King is traveling in search of a very wise master.
Stone Monkey, born from a strong magic stone that sits atop the Flowers and Fruit Mountain. This stone is no ordinary stone, however, because it receives the nurture of heaven (yang), which possesses a positive nature, and earth (yin), which possesses a negative nature, and thus is able to produce living beings.
Shortly before his birth, inside his egg, he opened his eyes and two beams of light struck the Jade God in the face. The Jade God sent a trusted agent, Shen Feng Wa, to investigate, who reported that the monkey was an auspicious omen and that the light soon died down, once the monkey began to eat and drink.
Shen Feng Wa gives the monkey the name Stone Monkey, because he was born from the magic stone.
