Prime Material Plane
The Outer Planes can be considered the children of the Prime Material Plane. They are planes of thought and belief, and would not exist without the Material Plane. Where then, is the source of the Prime?
It is the Elemental Chaos of the Inner Planes that formed the Prime Material Plane. From there came the basic building blocks, the four elements and the two energies, through the Ether.
This is the real physical world. As it is the only plane of existence to border both the Ethereal Plane and the Astral Plane, it is an important crossroads for travelers who need to get from one end of the multiverse to the other. When magic was sealed from the Material Plane and the Stars of Power were extinguished, travel to the Prime wasn't impossible, but leaving nearly was.
