The Golden Class

The Golden Class are worshippers of Qualei.

History

As all The 10 Pillars religions did, they emerged some time after Disus Kape discovered The 10 Pillars Structure. Followers of Qualei were among the first to truly emerge as a religion, likely influenced by the amount of exploration, uncovered history, and developments in learning of the era. They were the first to build a true temple, the Dawnhall, which still stands.

Ethics

The Golden Class believes all knowledge should be collected and shared. There is a significant disagreement within the religion itself, and those that criticise it, that suggest that certain knowledge is dangerous to be out in the open. This is an ongoing disagreement. Generally, they believe in uncovering history, and re-obtaining knowledge that has been lost. Some Students are interested in the Precursor era, but there are many interesting points of more recent history that they believe are under-researched and may be more prescient.

Priesthood

The three Sages are the highest ranked members of the Golden Class, led by one particular Sage given the ability to break ties in decision-making. They are granted access to the Jigache Cache, though nobody outside very high-ranking Students know exactly what this means. A Sage will usually designate a person who would take over from them given death or inability - though little is actually enough to truly end a Sage's role. Unless their mind is rendered completely sundered, as long as they still possess the memories of their life, they are still as knowledgeable, even if they can't quite access those memories themselves. Loremasters are the second highest ranked, these being senior scholars and experts in particular fields of knowledge. They typically base at a library or information-gathering centre of some sort and direct things from there, or act as educators in some aspect. Seekers are travelling Students whose goal is to gather, record and inter knowledge. Most do this openly. Some, more secretly, are trained in more quiet methods of aquiring information. Curators are the heads of smaller churches.
